YW Award, The Trek, RS Birthday

A beautiful picture of Megan and Raechel at the YW Stake Recognition Ceremony where they were honored for finishing their Personal Progress and receiving their Medallions. Sis. Green was the one that talked about both of them that night and while asking Megan and Raechel who was their inspiration in working on their Personal Progress--the vote was unanimous--Kacey.

Dad and I are very proud of these two beautiful young women! Below is a picture of Sis. Harris, the YW President in our Ward, and Sis. Green--we sure appreciate their efforts!

And here is our Megan with a display of her accomplishments--her Integrity Book, her quilt, a picture that Chris and Darlene put together of her experiences in Music Man, her Faith book that Grammy helped her with--the Book was open to a picture of my Grandma Knowlton, her Autism paper and of course her pictures of people she loves so much!

Now here are some pictures of the Trek--you will be able to see for yourselves the "mud" that we were telling you about--lots and lots of mud and of course I put all the pictures in backwards. So we are starting with the pictures that should've been at the end. And at the end of these pictures are the beginning of the Trek.

Here are some pictures when they weren't knee deep in mud and it looked really neat to look down the line of all the handcarts and our motivated "Pioneers"--a beautiful sight!

This is a picture of us on the second day--if you look really close--you can see our sun burnt noses :)

It really is a miracle that all the handcarts made it through all the mud without breaking down!
Dad and crew did a good job building sturdy handcarts for the Trek.

This is a picture of Megan's family that we took on the first day after their first hike to Nauvoo. Megan is the cute one in piggy tails and holding the baby--she had a great Ma and Pa.

This is a picture that Dad took of the inside cover of the Book of Mormon that belonged to Joseph Smith that was shown to all the youth. It may be hard for you to read the words--but it says "Private Library of --Joseph Smith--Nauvoo, ILL.

Here are most of the Stake leaders that helped plan Trek--Sis. and Pres. Dotter are next to us and then I'm sure you all recognize Bishop Miller in the front--he was our "mountain man". Pres. Holgate is standing next to Dad and he has helped plan all three treks that we have been on--they all did such a wonderful job planning Trek.

Here we are all clean and ready to start Treking--Dad looked great in his Pioneer clothes!

The last two pictures are of our RS Birthday--this is Mabel and I--we make quite the team!
